Hotel McGrath is under new ownership and provided a great stay for a friend and me. The hotel is rustic but the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Very pleased.
I was with a tour group for the recent Iditarod and we stayed at the Hotel McGrath apartments which was a short 6-7 minute walk to the hotel and dining area depending on the snow. The 2 bedroom apartment included bath, full kitchen and living room with good cable and the rooms were charming, warm and comfortable. The owner, Jennifer, is a delight who can cook up a storm. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And the two Alaskan Huskies, Lady and Shadow, love their tummies rubbed. If you are planning a few days in McGrath anytime, or during the hunting season, you will love your stay. Cheers, Stephen

At Hotel McGrath you are part of the family. When all their kids grew up, they started a hotel.
Top notch on the edge of civilization. Welcoming lodge feel with everything you need. Great WiFi and coffee. After two weeks in the bush moose hunting it was a welcome sight.
My husband and I stayed in the cozy suites that were beautiful and all the comforts of home! Great adventuring on a bike or 4-wheeler, plus a peaceful, relaxing stay!
